Man City 3-0 West Ham: Erling Haaland Breaks Premier League Scoring Record as Pep Guardiola's Side Go Top

By Simon Stone, BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho secured a 2-1 home win for Manchester City over fourth-placed West Ham United to move the champions back to the top of the Premier League table.

Erling Haaland, the Norwegian striker who joined City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a close-range finish after being set up by Kevin De Bruyne.

Gundogan doubled City's lead in the 52nd minute with a header from a De Bruyne cross, and Fernandinho made it 3-0 in the 65th minute with a low shot into the bottom corner.

West Ham pulled a goal back through Michail Antonio in the 74th minute, but it was not enough to prevent City from securing their first win of the season.

The win moves City back to the top of the table, two points ahead of Arsenal, who have won their first two games of the season.
