A Life of Grace and Glamour

Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, was born on August 21, 1930, to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. She was the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II and was known for her beauty, style, and independent spirit.

Margaret was educated at home and later studied ballet at the Royal Ballet School. She made her debut as a ballerina in 1948 and went on to perform with the Royal Ballet for several years.

In 1960, Margaret married Antony Armstrong-Jones, a photographer. The couple had two children, David, Viscount Linley, and Lady Sarah Chatto. Margaret and Armstrong-Jones divorced in 1978.

Margaret was a patron of many charities and organizations. She was also a keen horsewoman and enjoyed riding and racing.

Margaret died on February 9, 2002, at the age of 71. She was survived by her two children and her sister, Queen Elizabeth II.
