Manchester City's Unbeaten Streak Against Brighton Continues

Goals from Alvarez and Haaland Secure Victory

City Return to Winning Ways with Dominant Display

Manchester City extended their unbeaten run against Brighton Hove Albion to 26 league games with a convincing 4-1 victory at the Amex Stadium on Saturday. Goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland in the first half put City firmly in control, despite being reduced to 10 men early in the second half.

The visitors started brightly and took the lead after just 21 minutes when Alvarez slotted home from close range after a clever pass from Riyad Mahrez. Haaland doubled City's advantage just seven minutes later with a powerful header from a Kevin De Bruyne cross.

City were reduced to 10 men in the 53rd minute when Joao Cancelo was shown a straight red card for a late challenge on Leandro Trossard. However, the Premier League champions showed their resilience and managed to extend their lead through Phil Foden's well-taken goal in the 65th minute.

Foden then set up Mahrez for City's fourth goal in the 75th minute, sealing the victory for Pep Guardiola's side. Brighton pulled one back through Deniz Undav in injury time, but it was ultimately a comfortable afternoon for City, who moved five points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table.
